THE EBASS TRIAL – Bronkhorstspruit Dam 2017
The prestigious EBASS series started out on a high note at Bronkhorstspruit Dam on 04 Feb 2017.
An encouraging 8 new teams joined the series for 2017 – making EBASS one of the few Bass Fishing Money Series in the country, showing a positive growth in entries for 2017.
The total prize money up for grabs for the day was a fantastic R 15 500, making it really worthwhile for competitors to give their absolutely everything to secure a podium position!!
The fishing was difficult but enjoyable, producing a winning bag of 4,51kgs by Team Viper Doors / Strike King to grab top the honors. For some competitors it was a long hard day with little success, but for the successful teams, finesse fishing around the jetties as well as the rocky ridge close to the Yacht Club, proved in the end to be the most successful patterns on the day.
After weigh-in the following teams made it into the prize money:
- Team Viper Doors / Strike King – Michael Matthee and Lappies Labuschagne (4,51 kgs)
- Team Climbing Kilimanjaro – Marco van Veelen and Ralph Connell (4,18 kgs)
- Tie between Team F1 Grand Prix Tours – Johan van Veelen and Nikki van Veelen
Team Greenfish VC – Louis Barbosa and Theo Prasinos (3,34 kgs) - Tie for 3rd place
- Team Bru Force / Hatfield VW Commercial – Craig Ninaber and Neels Both (3,01 kgs)
